Finance Factors Foundation’s 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament Raises $20,000 for ʻAhahui Koa Ānuenue
The Finance Factors Foundation proudly hosted its 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on September 19, 2024, at the Hawai‘i Prince Golf Club in Ewa Beach. This year’s event was a success, raising $20,000 in support of ʻAhahui Koa Ānuenue, a nonprofit organization committed to advancing the University of Hawaiʻi’s athletic programs and student-athletes.
Held at the beautiful Hawai‘i Prince Golf Course, the tournament brought together community members, sponsors, donors, and volunteers for a day of friendly competition and charitable giving. Over 20 volunteers across the Finance Enterprises companies, Finance Factors, Finance Insurance and Waipono Investment Corporation worked tirelessly behind the scenes, ensuring the event ran smoothly and making this milestone year extra special.
Steve Teruya, retired President of Finance Factors, was honored for launching this incredible tradition 10 years ago. His vision to give back to the community that has given so much to Finance Factors continues to inspire each year. The funds raised will help ʻAhahui Koa Ānuenue provide vital resources and support for student-athletes across the University of Hawaiʻi’s sports programs.
“We are grateful for the generosity of our sponsors, donors, and volunteers who made this event possible,” said Rob Nelson, President of Finance Factors. “Together, we’ve not only had a great day on the course, but we’ve made a meaningful difference for ʻAhahui Koa Ānuenue and the next generation of athletes.”
Student-athletes from the University of Hawaiʻi were on hand to meet and personally thank the golfers. Some of the tournament’s coveted prizes included a football signed by University of Hawaiʻi Head Football Coach Timmy Chang.
One of the most talked-about aspects of the Finance Factors Charity Golf Tournament is the amazing local food offerings. The iconic Anda-Dog is a delicious combination of andagi batter wrapped around Kukui sausage—along with the Da-burger Joint, serving mouthwatering burgers with a secret sauce. At the Snack Shack, participants enjoyed handcrafted cocktails made by IT and cybersecurity employees and tacos donated by Bar 35, while the real estate team cooked up a new dish that quickly became a crowd favorite. These unique local grinds are a staple at the Finance Factors Charity Golf Tournament and can only be found at this one-of-a-kind event.
“We are so appreciative of Finance Factors Foundation for their incredible support,” said Dave Kuwata, Executive Director for ʻAhahui Koa Ānuenue. “This event not only raises essential funds for our student-athletes but also brings the community together in a meaningful way. Mahalo to everyone who contributed.”
